In this discussion, I’m proud to introduce you to Alberto Elli. He’s a global business Leader whose career was born in finance and grew to include broad C-Suite responsibilities building teams and driving strategic vision. He’s developed culture in large public corporate, Private Equity owned and start-up environments and he’s agreed to share some stories from his own people management journey with us today. You’ll hear him talk about managing people in global business and he’ll discuss being a life-time learner fostering a culture of openness, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

I’ve invited Alberto to the ManagerMirror because of his broad mixture of technical and strategic experiences and his exposure to both large-corporate and start-up team building.  Alberto started his finance career in Italy working at SCA, a Swedish paper and packaging leader, for 7 years before joining global pharmaceutical giant Schering-Plough (now acquired by Merck).  He was promoted twice over 8 years with Schering-Plough  eventually moving to the US and becoming the VP of International Finance for their prescription business – a division that grew up to $4.5 billion!  After Schering-Plough, Albert spent 6 years as a Group VP with global paint & coatings leader Sherwin Williams. During these years, his group acquired more than ten companies in different parts of the world.  After Sherwin Williams, Alberto shifted his career to participate in Private or Private Equity owned companies and run a start-up in the medical device space.  Alberto made an impact beyond finance and Mergers and Acquisitions, applying his years of people-leadership expertise to COO and CEO roles along the way.  In 2020, He joined CGN Global as a key executive in the launch of Tada Cognitive Systems; an internally created start-up with a unique data-binding SaaS technology platform. Colleagues have praised Alberto for applying passion, honesty, professionalism, creativity and integrity in developing their careers.  Today, you’ll find him working as PE/M&A Director with Tada Cognitive right here in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he lives with his family. In this episode Alberto introduces several concepts he applies in managing his staff.
