I’m joined today by a key player in Southeast Michigan.  He has led production, transformation, growth and strategy throughout his 21 years with Quicken Loans.  He’s built a professional network that is founded in employee relationships and his personal leadership tree includes alumni that have become CEOs, VPs, Directors and corporate people managers of all types.  He’s agreed to share some stories from his own people management journey as well as provide a couple key techniques he’s put into practice with small teams and in large reorganizations.  You’ll hear him callout reasons staff doesn’t buy-in to change and how to overcome each. You’ll also hear him share some principles that became most important to him as his scope of leadership grew.

I’ve invited Graham to the ManagerMirror because his background is close to my heart!  He’s a Detroiter and he’s been involved in some of the projects that have helped to rebuild our city’s downtown employment picture over the 21 years he’s spent in exponentially increasing leadership roles at Quicken Loans.  Graham started his career as an individual producer and quickly stood out from his peers through his performance.  He was first asked to lead a team in 1997 and he built upon that experience with success after success ultimately leading to his role as Vice President of Marketing and Business Channel Strategy.  Graham has overseen the massive reorganization of the call center for Quicken which included a growth from 100 team members to over 1,000 in a 4-year period.  He’s built internal incentive programs, designed new customer offerings, and created sales lead optimization procedures that the organization uses today.  Through it all, Graham’s daily responsibilities have involved direct supervisory work with teams ranging from a few individuals to hundreds of employees and his success has been tied to constantly learning, practicing and adjusting his approach to managing people.  Today, Graham serves as the Chief Revenue Strategist and Growth Architect for Sath Solutions.  Follow Graham on LinkedIn for leadership and corporate growth content.
