HungerRush Vice President of Sales Josh Desmond is a change-management leader who has built teams in the start-up space and built careers along the way.  Past employees praise him for his energetic ability to build trust and “leaders eat last” approach to supporting his teams.  He’s joining us today to share some of his experiences implementing strategy and hiring teams in the start-up space.  You’ll hear him discuss his “overcommunicating” techniques, and he’ll walk us through how he applies the HEAT Model in staying true to servant leadership.

I’ve invited Josh to the ManagerMirror because of the sheer volume of praise he’s received for his work setting up teams, and this praise comes from leaders, past employees, and stakeholders.  Josh started his career as a police officer for the US Department of Defense, and then quickly transitioned into a role with the CIA where he spent 8 years.  His private-sector transition began with an account executive role doing sales for PE-owned Relias Learning and his performance let his leadership to ask him to step into a Sales Director role with another holding – Omnitracs.  Josh then held Director level and VP Sales roles with start-ups; Droneshield, Vectorworks, ReturnLogic, and Revalize.  His past colleagues all reference his listening skills, emotional intelligence, coaching skills, and consistent prioritization of team development. Today, Josh is Vice President of Sales at HungerRush where he’s designing strategy, implementing SOP, and building teams to support a rapidly growing restaurant-industry software.
