Today’s guest started her career as a standout engineer and was quickly elevated to lead others. Throughout her career, she’s defined overall vision for the future of mobility at multiple Fortune 500 firms while creating and growing groups that drive product development. She’s agreed to share some stories from her own people management journey as well as provide a couple key techniques she implements with her staff. You’ll hear her talk about the importance of written communication and share her thoughts on preparing for executive meetings.
I’ve invited Kristen to the ManagerMirror because she’s built a career on transforming organizations to adapt as business changes. An MIT Grad, Kristin started her career in the powertrain division of Ford Motor Company. She spent over 20 years at Ford driving strategy through multiple roles including her stint as the dedicated global lead to define Ford’s overall vision on the future of mobility. After Ford, Kristen served as the Director of Propulsion Strategy and Planning at Chrysler before moving to Ernst &Young as an Executive Director leading the Future of Mobility team in the Americas. She’s served on several Boards tied to U of M including Michigan’s PlanetM, a partnership to develop and deploy the mobility technologies driving the future. She has been a speaker at the Automotive World M:bility Detroit, Automotive News Europe Congress and Stora Bildagen in Stockholm. The Dec 2016 issue of Automotive News has Kristin featured in their article “60 people driving the self-driving movement”. Today, Kristin is serving as the Chief Transformation Officer at Thirdware – leading a nimble start-up team within the company focused on accelerating the adoption of key emerging technologies.
