I’ve invited Matt to the ManagerMirror because he’s successfully led teams through transition in a variety of different sized organizations. Matt’s career began with an internship at Baxter in 1999 right at the time of the Y2K transition that turned into a software engineering role. Matt then did technology consulting at IBM for 6 years in HCM and Financials ERP space. He stepped into people-leadership role with Alight Solutions in 2012 in a rapidly growing Workday practice. Matt spent 8 years with Alight ascending from Director level roles in cloud services to leading their Workday practice as a VP before leaving to join Slack in September of 2020. Matt built a professional services team at Slack and earned the coveted “Leader of the Year” award for his delivery of rapid hiring, GTM development, and building a professional services competency around product enabled and tech architecture. Matt prides himself in mentoring and driving customer satisfaction through team growth and development. Today, he’s the Vice President of a rapidly growing Enterprise Solutions team at Upwork, and he’s joining us to share his story, and a few techniques we can put into practice with our teams.
