Tania is an outspoken, positive force in sales and business-development leadership.  She has been praised for delivering customer experience and financial results while developing and retaining staff.  Alumni of her teams call out how she connects with people quickly and deeply while earning trust and challenging their professional growth.  Tania had reached out to me discussing the topic of managers coaching employees “up or out”, and right away I knew this audience would gain value from hearing her perspective.  Thankfully, she’s agreed to share her story and experiences leading people with B2B and tech industry leaders.  In the episode, you’ll hear her discuss the G.R.O.W. concept for coaching.  She’ll also tell us about “ice cream conversations”, and the “tree of legacy”.

I wanted to invite Tania to the ManagerMirror because of the consistent praise I’ve heard from my colleagues about her impact on their careers.  Tania leads an adjacent team at Amazon, and her people-development focus has been echoed by staff, colleague managers, and company leadership.  Tania first led teams in operations at Costurex Corporation in Mexico from 1994 to 1999 before she came to the US to lead sales operations with Apex Imaging.  In 2001, Tania shifted to commissioned sales for 2 years with Corporate Express – now Staples – followed by 4 years with Office Depot.  In 2007, Tania joined Grainger where her strong performance garnered an early opportunity to lead teams.  Over ten years with Grainger, Tania led learning and delivery teams and Commercial Sales. Throughout her career, Tania has been an outspoken advocate for the Latino community within her employers, and broadly across her volunteer work. If you follow Tania on social media, you’ll see her raising her voice in support of employee engagement, recognition, development and driving opportunity for advancement for Women and Latino professionals.  Today, Tania’s starting her sixth year with Amazon leading multiple Enterprise Government sales teams for Amazon Business, along with being a Board Member on the Women’s Advocacy Circle.  Follow Tania on Linkedin to stay up to date with her growth-oriented content!
